Starting "The 100"

For Christmas of 2010, Ryan gave me a beautiful formal dress.  Along with it he gave me 3 books:  "A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style" by Tim Gunn with Kate Moloney, "Gunn's Golden Rules:  Life's Little Lessons for Making it Work", and "The One Hundred" by Nina Garcia.  (If you are not aware, we both are fans of Project Runway.)  With these gifts, I was getting the hint loud and clear.  I need help with my closet.  It's not that I lack a personal style.  It's that I lack a fitting personal style for my age, my lifestyle and my body type.  When I take a long, deep look in my closet, I find clothes I haven't worn in years.  I have clothes I have had since high school.  I have clothes I have had since college.  Since I have reached my 30's, I haven't spend much time or money on clothes for myself.  I am ready for this to change.

I have started reading, "The One Hundred".  This is "A guide to the pieces every stylish woman must own."  It starts with the classic A-line dress.  Since starting this book, I have purchased a classic A-line dress.  One down.  Lots and lots to go!

I have started!

As I move along the book, I am starting to feel a bit overwhelmed as I get further through this book.  Currently, I am on #78:  Silk Scarf.  Nina is obviously obsessed with the Hermes Scarf.   I am not ready for a purchase like this and this is my struggle with this book.

I am glad I have this book.  I am overwhelmed by this book.
This is the point of this blog.  I am going to take the time to go back through the book and see how long it takes me to feel like a Stylish Woman!!
